South Plaza

South Plaza

Igniting the Senses

An area the size of 16 football pitches, the South Plaza sits between the stunning Aquatics Centre designed by world renowned architect Zaha Hadid, the iconic Stadium and UK’s tallest sculpture  ArcelorMittal Orbit.

You will discover interactive fountains, impressive gardens; children’s play areas with giant swings & climbing walls. You will also be able to enjoy a unique layout of Garden rooms, designed by Piet Oudolf,  that will host a different theme or activity.

The waterways that stretch up to the centre of the park will be used for transport including water taxis, kayaking and other water based activities. Along the waterways exciting developments will happen these may include floating restaurants and cinemas. It will be a area that offers many different experiences.

From its two platforms, visitors will be able to take in the view of London’s skyline and all the attractions of the Park, including the 7,500 capacity Copper Box, the third largest arena in London, and the South Park Hub, a vibrant place to meet, share a drink and a bite to eat, and buy tickets for Park events.

At 114m tall, the ArcelorMittal
Orbit is the U.K.’s tallest sculpture.
