Accessibility and Inclusive Design

Accessibility and Inclusive design

The London Legacy Development Corporation is committed to carrying forward the significant accessibility and inclusive design work that was undertaken to deliver, ‘the most accessible Games ever’. It is our intention to ensure that the future Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park is the most accessible new Park in the UK incorporating wholly inclusive neighbourhoods that work for a diverse population and can be enjoyed by everyone regardless of; disability, age, gender, sexual orientation, race or faith.

In order to achieve this, we have produced an Inclusive Design Strategy which clearly sets out our high level approach and commitment to delivering inclusive design across all aspects of our work. In addition, we have also developed our own Inclusive Design Standards.

The Inclusive Design Standards set out the procedures, guidance and standards we expect will deliver inclusive design solutions and provide a single guidance document that acts as a benchmark for our design projects. A compliance procedure will ensure that all design work complies with our Inclusive Design Standards as necessary. A copy of our Inclusive Design Standards can be provided on request.
